I'm SO excited about this new addition to the blog (yes, I know I get excited a lot, but it's only because I LOVE sharing all of this creativity with you). I've been talking to so many brides, and spent so much time researching for my OWN wedding, that I've decided to commit every Wednesday's blog post to weddings!...
So, for this first Wedding Wednesday post, I wanted to share with you tricks from my wedding, because it was COMPLETELY DIY (do-it-yourself). That's right...we saved a boatload of money, which was good considering we paid for the majority of it. And something tells me many of you are in the same boat...One of the funniest parts is that my family has owned a floral business for 40+ years...and I had almost no flowers on my table! I'm what you could have called a "bling bride". I had a vision of huge crystal trees dangling at each table. Here's a close up...
The vases, filler, branches, and crystals were all purchased at my wholesalers. Each one was hand assembled with one crystal garland and 27 crystals...whew! Totally worth it, though =)
The stationary was one of my favorite parts. I designed it all on my computer and printed it at home. These layered ceremony programs had a bright orange cardstock background, and tied with a gold ribbon (both of the wedding colors!).
The menus for the table were in the same colors and listed all the amazing food for the reception (and we actually got to eat some...crazy, right?!)
The next two projects were some of my FAVORITE! I didn't want to settle for simple escort cards, and I also wanted to come up with an inexpensive, but meaningful favor. The result? I combined the ideas!! These simple orange jewelry boxes were tied with an orange ribbon decorated with a crystal monogram sticker. Each one was then tied with a white tag with the couples name and table number. Tah-dah! Escort favors =) But check it out...they were filled with our favorite candy, Reese's PeanutButter Cups. And it's also the name of our two furry children, Reese's and Peanutbutter Cup. No, seriously =) Lastly...
...THIS is the guest book...omg, my heart still flutters when I see it, even though my hand cramped for two days after painting it, hehe. For our aisle runner, I enlarged the same monogram from the menus and programs and painted it on the aisle runner I walked down to marry my husband...awww. After all the work and sentiment that went into it, I didn't want it thrown away, so we cut it after the ceremony and had it used as a guest book! I LOVE it...still...
So, that's it for this Wedding Wednesday. I am OH so excited to share wedding ideas and inspiration with you every week! And if you want to chat about more ideas for YOUR wedding, you can always reach me at cheers.entertaining@hotmail.com =)
Cheers,
SB
